Sara Ouhaddou is a French-Moroccan artist working between Morocco and France. Her practice bridges traditional craftsmanship and contemporary art, reinterpreting cultural heritage through new perspectives.
In her upcoming lecture, Situated Knowledge in Craft Practices: 10 Years of Artistic Research and Engagement, Ouhaddou will reflect on her decade-long engagement with artisan communities across Morocco and beyond. She will discuss how her creative protocols respond to political, social, and geographical contexts, fostering empowerment and autonomy for both artisans and herself.
By reinterpreting heritage and shifting from an individual to a collective practice, her work challenges conventional artistic production and highlights contemporary art as a tool for social change. Through these collaborations, she contributes to a broader conversation about art, labor, and self-determination.
